The backed-up data can be retained based on user needs, searched, non-destructively restored, and exported. For example, during a Microsoft 365 outage, you can export one or more of your OneDrive data files, thus giving you redundant access to those data files until the Microsoft service returns.
Google Workspace Cloud-Data Backup and Recovery
